Share on:
Check out this video update where I share all the exciting highlights from our recent quarterly meeting.
Dear Members,
We are filled with immense pride and excitement to present the Board of Directors’ new Strategic Plan for 2025-2028. This plan not only honours the incredible journey we’ve shared but also outlines an inspiring path forward for our esteemed professional association.
Read on and watch this video message from our Board of Directors & CEO.
Building on a strong foundation and considering the evolving landscape of our profession, the Board of Directors has invested significant time and energy in developing this Strategic Plan. It reflects months of careful consultation, analysis, and a unified vision for demonstrating leadership as a professional community.
We believe this plan will elevate our association to new heights and empower each of you in your professional journeys. It is an ambitious, forward-thinking roadmap grounded in our identity and values.
We are excited for you to see this strategic roadmap realized. Our CEO and his team are developing their annual budgets, work plans, and targeting activities and investments to propel it forward.
As we look forward, we must acknowledge and reflect on the significant milestones over the past three years.
Priority Area
Achievements
Grow a Broad and Diverse Membership
The membership base has grown from 1,730 to over 2,400 in three years, with over 50% of members holding the CPB designation. This growth has attracted more bookkeepers from across industry and mid to larger-sized firms. The education partner program has also established 17 college partnerships to offer an aligned CPB pathway curriculum.
Programming and Benefits
Launching programs such as the Autumn Tax Primer, T1 Tax Tune-Up Workshops, the GST/HST Seminar Series, and annual ethics and webinar Wednesdays has enhanced professional development offerings. A newly developed CPB exam preparation course is to launch in 2025. The NUMBERS & SENSE magazine has become a quarterly publication for the industry.
Fiscal Sustainability
Over the past three years, annual revenues have nearly doubled thanks to growth and diversified income streams, affording greater non-dues revenue stability. Financial reserves have been established through policy measures and an investment strategy to support future fiscal sustainability.
Awareness
We created National Bookkeeping Week as an annual event to celebrate the profession and raise awareness. Our enhanced public affairs presence has increased political engagement in key provinces and with federal ministers. A strategic communications and marketing plan has bolstered our digital presence within the industry.
Organizational Strength
A comprehensive governance review has resulted in significant reforms and a cultural shift within the organization. Policy, practices, and perspective changes have transformed the Board of Directors into a governance-focused body. The association is now a competitive employer, having expanded staffing to seven full-time equivalents (FTEs) and several vendors. A technology overhaul will modernize and upgrade our current infrastructure, with completion expected this year.
These accomplishments are just the beginning. Many more achievements directly result from the strong strategic focus and commitment demonstrated by this organization and its staff. With that in mind, we extend our sincere gratitude to everyone who has contributed to making the past several years a resounding success.
The future looks bright, and I am proud to be a part of it.
